Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect: National Weather Service

Storm is capable of producing strong winds, deadly lightning, heavy rain, weather service reports.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for several areas, effective until 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

  • Carroll County
  • Baltimore County
  • Howard County
  • Baltimore City

At 5:25 pm., the weather service said radar showed a severe thunderstorm capable of producing winds greater than 60 mph.

The storm was near Sykesville and was moving east at 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
