Stabbed Owings Mills Man Recovers, Suspect Charged: Report

A Baltimore County man was injured in an altercation in Harford County, the sheriff's office reported.

EDGEWOOD, MD — A man is being held without bail after authorities allege he tried to kill an Owings Mills man. The 28-year-old Baltimore County man was stabbed after a June 15 altercation at a gathering in Harford County, officials said.

Sylvester Prioleau Jr., 30 of the 2000 block of Hanson Road in Edgewood, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, concealing a dangerous weapon and using a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, court records show. He is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center, where he was taken June 19, the day a warrant was issued for his arrest. He has a preliminary hearing set for July 18 in Harford County

Multiple people got into an altercation in the 500 block of Crownwood Court in Edgewood that precipitated the stabbing, investigators said. The 28-year-old man from Owings Mills was targeted, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Prioleau had been at a party where he was talking with his girlfriend's father about boxing when they disagreed about something, and as the father was leaving, the 30-year-old Edgewood man tried to attack him, The Aegis reported. The man's son — a 28-year-old Owings Mills resident — reportedly intervened.

The victim realized that he had been seriously injured, and family members took him to the hospital, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies were called to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center at 9:47 p.m. Saturday, June 15, after the Owings Mills man came in with a stab wound.

He was transferred to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of his injuries, which officials said were not life-threatening.

He has been released from the hospital, The Aegis reported as of June 20.
