State Champs! New Town Wins Girls Basketball Title At MPSSAA Finals
The Lady Titans won their first state championship for girls basketball on Saturday.
TOWSON, MD — The Lady Titans won the class 2A state title in the Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association (MPSSAA) championship game.
The Lady Titans faced off against the Largo Lions and came out on top, 61-47.
It was the first time the Lady Titans claimed the state title.

The team has advanced to the regional finals five times consecutively and in 2014 made it to the 1A finals, according to Press Box, which reported the Lady Titans prevailed this year despite moving up to the class 2A competition.

The class 2A championship took place at the SECU Arena at Towson University at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
