Stevenson to Join Middle Atlantic Conference in 2012

University to leave Capital Athletic Conference in favor of 18-school league.

Stevenson University on Thursday announced plans to join the Middle Atlantic Conference for 21 of its 22 Div. III sports in July 2012. The Mustangs are currently members of the Capital Athletic Conference.

With the addition of Stevenson and fellow CAC rival Hood College, the MAC will have 18 members in four states -- Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Maryland.

"The reputation of the member schools and our opportunity to be associated with the reputation of their athletic departments are great fits for Stevenson," said Brett Adams, Stevenson's athletic director, in a statement. "I personally have a long history with a number of the athletic directors and coaches in the MAC, and I have always had positive experiences. I can't think of a better fit for the Mustangs."
