Stevenson University President Retires, Effective Immediately
The student affairs chair at Stevenson University will serve as interim president.

Stevenson University President Kevin Manning, Ph.D., retired on Tuesday, officials announced.
"While he previously announced his retirement effective June 30, 2017, he has decided to retire earlier in order to attend to some manageable health issues," Stevenson University said in a statement Tuesday, the effective date of his retirement.
Manning assumed his role in 2000, seeing the institution through a name change from Villa Julie to Stevenson University in 2008. Under his leadership, Stevenson doubled its enrollment — currently 4,185 — and evolved from a commuter college in the Greenspring Valley to include a residential university campus in Owings Mills.

During the search for a new leader, Vice President of Student Affairs Claire Moore agreed to serve as interim president.
Moore is a graduate of Villa Julie College who has worked for the university for more than 30 years.

Update on Dr. Manning's Retirement from Stevenson University, Nov. 29:
We are sharing with you the news that Dr. Kevin J. Manning has decided that he will retire as President of Stevenson University effective today. While he previously announced his retirement effective June 30, 2017, he has decided to retire earlier in order to attend to some manageable health issues.
Claire Moore '67 '03, Vice President of Student Affairs, has agreed to serve as Interim-President while we conduct and conclude our presidential search over the next several months. A graduate of Villa Julie College, Claire has served the University for more than 30 years and will serve the institution well during this interim period.
Dr. Manning will return to participate in a number of important events during Spring 2017 to mark his retirement and achievements, including a retirement gala on June 10 to raise money for an endowed scholarship established by him and his wife Sara. This scholarship supports first generation students and is a most worthy legacy that Dr. Manning and Sara want to leave for future Stevenson students.
