SU Sports: Basketball Teams Breaking Even

The Mustangs men's and women's basketball teams are a combined 4-4 two weeks into the college basketball season.

It's basketball season at Stevenson University, and the men's and women's teams have combined to go .500 (4-4) about two weeks into the season.

Here's how the teams fared in the last week. All information is according to the university's athletics department.

Men's Basketball

The Mustangs (1-3) fell in their home opener last week, 78-76.

Stevenson's Brett Burrier and Joe Hindle combined for 41 points and nine three-pointers, but Elizabethtown used a 20-5 run late in the second half and held off a last minute rally for the win.

The team has one game on the road before it plays Mary Washington at Owings Mills Arena on Nov. 30 at 8 p.m., following a women's basketball game.

 

Women's Basketball

is off to the best start in program history (3-1) after beating Keystone in the Mustangs' home debut last week, 72-59.

Amanda Craig tied a career-high with 13 points to go along with four rebounds and three steals in a balanced overall game by the Mustangs. Six players scored at least eight points and nine played at least 12 minutes.

The team has two games on the road before returning home on Nov. 30 for a 6 p.m. game with Mary Washington.
