REISTERSTOWN, MD — A tanker truck carrying about 8,000 gallons of gasoline caught fire on Interstate 795 near Reisterstown early Saturday, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The fire happened on I-795 at Westminster Pike and was extinguished around 12:30 a.m., fire officials said. No injuries were reported.

A hazardous materials team and the Maryland Department of the Environment responded to the scene.

Officials said the interstate would remain closed for an extended period while crews cleaned up.

Officials did not immediately release details about what caused the fire.
