Three Owings Mills Eateries Celebrate Restaurant Week

More than a week of discounts in Baltimore County restaurants begin Thursday.

Three Owings Mills restaurants will have special menus and discounted prices beginning Tuesday, as the eateries take part in Baltimore County Restaurant Week.

Restaurant Week is actually more than a week long, running from Jan. 12 until January 21 in 36 participating restaurants around Baltimore County, a county statement said.

, and in Owings Mills are participating. In Reisterstown, The Grill at Harryman House is also signed up.

Three course lunch and dinner specials at participating restaurants run from $10.12 to $35.12, a county statement said. The price discounts could be a boon to the county's already thriving restaurant industry.

Baltimore County restaurant sales totalled $1.2 billion in 2011, the statement said, second in Maryland only to Montgomery County's $1.4 billion. Nearly 25,000 people are employed by county restaurants, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said in the statement.

Kamenetz officially kicks off the week at 10:45 a.m. a day early, on Wednesday, at Liberatore's Ristorante in Timonium.
