Titans Lock Down on Patterson Mill, Advance to Region Finals
Playing on the road, New Town limits Huskies to 37 total points, faces off against Owings Mills in 1A North Final.

After falling on its home floor to Owings Mills on its home floor six weeks ago, New Town is hoping to do the same to the Eagles—this time when it counts.
The Titans snatched a decisive road win against Patterson Mill, 48-37, Wednesday night to setup a rematch between the heated rivals in the 1A North Finals for the right to travel to the Comcast Center at the University of Maryland for the MPSSAA State Semifinals.
Junior Devonte Coleman led all scorers with 20 points and senior Tavon Geter chipped in with 10 more as New Town quickly erased a three-point halftime deficit by storming out on an 8-0 run to open the third quarter.

The Titans remained in the lead for the remainder of the game. New Town allowed only one Patterson Mill player to reach double figures and held arguably the Huskies two best players—forwards Reggie Daniels and Garett Burkhead—to 11 points combined.
Even after falling to Owings Mills, 73-64, back in January, New Town head coach Mike Salapata has been envisioning this rematch for quite some time.

“I think both us and Owings Mills always knew that this game was coming in the regional finals—I know we’ve always thought that,” Salapata said. “The schools are two miles apart. It should be fun.”
