Travel Options: Getting Home on New Year's

There are easy options available for those who will need a ride tonight. Here's the short list, if you're planning to party in northwest Baltimore County and downtown:

• If you need to get around in Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Eldersburg, Randallstown or Pikesville, Valley Cab will take you all over Baltimore County: (410) 486-4000.
• For the first time, bus and metro travel will be free. From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., through a partnership with the Maryland Transit Administration and the Miller Lite Free Rides program, call 1-800-FREE-RIDES or text "RIDEMTA" to 30364 for route and schedule information.
• Free rides are also available through the Tipsy? Taxi! Program, sponsored by the State Highway Administration, Yellow Cab and AAA Mid-Atlantic.  Call 1-877-963-TAXI between midnight and 4 a.m. for free rides up to $50 in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
• For inner city travel, there's also Yellow Cab of Baltimore Taxi Service at (410) 685-1212 and ASAP Car Service, which books ahead: (410) 864-8057.
