Two Owings Mills Companies Make Inc. 5000 List
Owings Mills is home to two of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., according to an annual survey of businesses.
OWINGS MILLS, MD — Two companies in Owings Mills made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America for 2018. A total of 111 organizations in Maryland were on the list, which the business magazine Inc. creates annually.
To find the top 5000 fastest growing companies in America, the Inc. analysts measured revenue growth from 2014 to 2017. In all, the Inc. 5000 companies earned $206.2 billion in revenue last year.
Strategic Factory in Owings Mills was ranked 4059 on the list. It grew 86 percent in the past three years.

The company at 11195 Dolfield Boulevard was founded in 2000 and specializes in marketing and advertising.
Last year, Strategic Factory made $18.3 million in revenue, according to the Inc. 5000.

There was one more Owings Mills company on the Inc. 5000.
Westminster American Insurance Company in Owings Mills was No. 4497.
Located at 8890 McDonogh Road, Westminster American Insurance Company earned $26.1 million in revenue in 2017. It has grown 73 percent in the past three years and was founded in 1869.

Topping the INC 5000 was SwanLeap in Madison, Wisconsin. The software company uses automated programs to determine the best way — the fastest and cheapest — for companies to ship products. It grew 75,661 percent in the past three years, earning $99 million in revenue in 2017.
Coming in second was PopSockets out of Boulder, Colorado, which makes cell phone stands and mounts. And the third fastest growing company was Home Chef based in Chicago, Illinois, which delivers ingredients and meal kits.
