Two Reisterstown Teens Killed In I-695 Crash: Police

Police said that alcohol and speed were believed to have contributed to the crash that killed two Reisterstown teens.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Two teens from Reisterstown died in a crash on Interstate 695 early Thursday morning, according to Maryland State Police. Authorities said that alcohol and speed are believed to have contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.

Matthias Listwan, 18, and Hannah Goodman, 15, both of Reisterstown, were killed in the crash. Police said they had been passengers in the back seat of a 2000 Honda Accord that hit a guardrail on the outer loop of I-695 near Providence Road before 1:30 a.m. When troopers arrived, they immediately began providing emergency aid until medics arrived.

Listwan was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said, and Goodman was taken to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where she was also pronounced deceased.

Police said Staton ran from the scene and was apprehended on the ramp from I-695 to Providence Road.

Staton, who was wanted in Baltimore County on a warrant for a traffic-related offense, was taken to Sinai Hospital and then to the Baltimore County Detention Center, where he will appear before a commissioner, police said.

Officials said the 17-year-old in the vehicle is not being identified due to the ongoing investigation.

Based on the preliminary investigation, authorities said the Accord hit the right guardrail and traveled across the road before coming to rest in the center lane.

The outer loop was closed at I-695 at Providence Road until 5:30 a.m., police reported.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack at 410-780-2700; callers may remain confidential.
