Reisterstown, Owings Mills to Feel Like 10 Below

A wind chill advisory is in effect for northern Baltimore County from 7 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind chill advisory means strong winds and cold temperatures have the potential to cause low wind chills, and people should take preventive measures in case of hypothermia and frostbite, the advisory states.

Wind chills may cause it to feel like 10 degrees below freezing, according to the advisory.

People should take precautions like wearing a hat and gloves outside.

Wind gusts will be between 15 to 25 mph and may get up to 40 mph, according to the weather service.

In addition to Baltimore, counties under the advisory include Carroll, Harford, Howard and Montgomery, the weather service reports.

That National Weather Service also issued a high wind watch from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Forecasters say damaging gusts between 40 to 60 mph may take down trees and power lines, and people are advised to prepare for outages.
