Woman Dies After Glyndon Crash Into Tree: Police

Police said a driver succumbed to injuries from a December crash in Glyndon.

GLYNDON, MD — A Baltimore woman died more than three weeks after a crash in Glyndon, according to police. She was the only person involved in the single-vehicle crash.

Shirley Franke, 81, died from her injuries Jan. 1, the Baltimore County Police Department reported.

Franke had been driving a Toyota Prius west on Worthington Avenue near Sagamore Forest Lane when before 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, she went off the road and hit a tree, police said.

The Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company reported she had to be rescued.

Authorities are still investigating the factors involved in the deadly crash in Glyndon.

Franke, of the 700 block of South Linwood Avenue near Canton, was taken to Sinai Hospital and later transferred to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where authorities said she died Friday.
