Woodlawn Branch To Celebrate 40-Year Anniversary

Several events such as live music and a magic show are planned in Woodlawn.

From BCPL: Baltimore County Public Library will celebrate 40 years of serving the Woodlawn community this weekend. The branch, which opened to the public in 1977, will celebrate with special events* for the public on Friday and Saturday.

Friday evening will feature Jazz in the Library, an after-hours event (doors open at 6:15 p.m.) with local musicians The Carl Grubbs Ensemble. On Saturday morning at 10 a.m., children are invited to Professor Mike’s Magic and Science Show, where they will enjoy a fun combination of science demonstrations with magic, juggling and comedy. Directly following Professor Mike’s show, branch staff will kick off a 40th birthday party with face painting, crafts, birthday cake and an appearance by mascot Sneaks the Cat.

“The Woodlawn Branch staff is passionate about providing excellent customer service and building long-term relationships with members of the community,” said branch manager Zeke White. “There is no better way to celebrate a 40th anniversary than with our valued customers and community partners.”
