Van Alert Issued Over Concerns Regarding Children In Woodlawn
Police said there have been reports of a man in a van who may have a gun approaching children in Baltimore County.

WOODLAWN, MD — A white van has been reportedly approaching children in the Woodlawn area, and two cases this week prompted police to issue a safety alert Thursday afternoon.
In one situation, police said the driver tried to lure a 12-year-old into his vehicle.
In another, children told authorities he approached a group and showed a handgun.

Most recently, police said a group of children on Walden Circle reported a masked person in a white van showed a handgun and ordered them into the vehicle, but they refused. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13.
It came days after the first report about the van. Police said at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, the driver of a white GMC Savana tried to lure a 12-year-old into his van in the 8600 block of Windsor Mill Road before the child refused and ran home, and the driver took off. The driver is described as a white man in his 50s driving a GMC Savana van.
