6 Displaced In House Fire Near Parkville: Officials

Two fires — one at a home and another at Royal Farms — were reported within minutes of one another in Parkville, officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Crews were called to two fires Saturday night in the Parkville area, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. One was at a home, while another was in a commercial building. No injuries were reported, but authorities said that six people were displaced from a home where one of the floors collapsed.

In that case, firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 9200 block of Bellbeck Road at 9:11 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. Initially, officials said the fire appeared to be in the basement. It was then upgraded to a working fire.

The first floor of the residence partially collapsed into the basement, officials later reported.

By 10 p.m. the fire had been knocked, and by 10:15 p.m. it had been placed under control. After 11 p.m., officials said they were clearing the area.

Five adults and one child were displaced due to the blaze, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department, which said the Red Cross was notified.

Less than 10 minutes after crews were dispatched to the house fire, firefighters were also notified of a fire at a business about 3 miles away.

A grease fire had broken out in the 8200 block of Harford Road. That was called in at 9:18 p.m., and by 9:30 p.m., crews were clearing the area after deeming the small grease fire was out.

The location of the grease fire was at the Royal Farms.
