Crime: Man Tries to Rob Baskin Robbins Store
Burglaries at a Parkville home and an area business round out the weekly crime roundup.
On Feb. 5 at 1:45 p.m. — Someone tried to rob the Baskin Robbins store located at 2310 E. Joppa Road. The suspect entered the store asking for change and was refused by an employee unless he made a purchase. The suspect bought ice water and then demanded that the victim open the register and hand over the cash. The employee refused, and the suspect reached into his pocket and threatened to shoot the victim. The victim still refused to hand over any cash, and the suspect fled on foot.
Police describe the suspect as a black male with a medium complexion and build, in his mid-to-late 30s, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 225 lbs. When last seen, the suspect was wearing a grey knit cap and dark leather jacket.
On Feb. 5, at approximately 6:25 a.m. — Someone broke into the Tobacco Center located at 1838 E. Joppa Road by using a weight to break glass on the front door. Once inside, the suspect stole five cartons of cigarettes and 20 individual packs of cigarettes. Surveillance video has allowed the police to identify the subject as a thin white male in his early-to-mid 20s, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt a black knit hat, jeans and white tennis shoes.

On Feb. 4, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. — Cash, a television, a DVD player, a computer, a video game system, accessories and games were stolen from a home in the 2500 block of Taylor Avenue. The burglar broke a window to get inside the home and left through a side door.
