Domestic Dispute Leads To Christmas Day Fatal Stabbing: Police

A woman who was punched in the face by a Parkville man grabbed a knife and fatally stabbed him in their home on Christmas Day, police say.

PARKVILLE, MD — A woman who was punched in the face several times by a Parkville man grabbed a knife and fatally stabbed him in their home in the 7900-block of Tilmont Avenue on Christmas Day, Baltimore County Police say. The incident began when the two family members argued just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police officers found William Daniel Barry, 63, suffering from an apparent stab wound to the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Barry had and the woman were the only two people inside the house at the time of the confrontation. During the argument, Barry punched the woman in the face repeatedly, knocking her to the floor, investigators said. When Barry walked away from the woman she was able to grab a knife. As he started to approach her again, she stabbed Barry, investigators said.

The Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office will review the case to determine if the woman will face any charges, police said.
