The Jennifer Branch Project of the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy sponsors a free, open-to-the-public event featuring workshops to teach you how to beautify your yard and make it more environmentally friendly.
Workshops, led by Baltimore County Master Gardners and members of the Gunpower Valley Conservancy, include:
Session 1: Greener in your Yard
Learn about all the green solutions you can plant in your yard: rain gardens, edible landscapes, and bayscaped gardens!

Session 2: Water and your Yard
Learn how to manage water in your yard with rain barrels and/or downspout disconnections and Bay Wise Yards and find out Who Polluted the Gunpowder?
Session 3: Trees and your yard
Learn about native trees and tree planting in your yard and community!

All of the workshops are great for kids ages 8 and older.
