GPCC back from Summer Break

Residents of Parkville, Carney, and Cub Hill invited to monthly meetings.

The Greater Parkville Community Council (GPCC) is back from summer break with a fall lineup of guest speakers. Our kick-off meeting will be held this Thursday, September 11th, with an opportunity for residents to discuss needed community improvements and neighborhood concerns with Baltimore County Council representatives:
   Councilwoman Cathy Bevins, representing Parkville
   Councilman David Marks, representing Carney
   Councilman Todd Huff, representing Cub Hill

The Baltimore County Council approves the County’s annual budget, determines future zoning and development, and adopts laws that affect our community and quality of life. In addition, they provide constituent services and address concerns relating to various departments in Baltimore County.

Other monthly meetings include:
October 9th
Guest Speakers Judge Bill Evans, Baltimore County Orphan’s Court and Julie Ensor, Clerk of the Circuit Court. The Orphan’s Court specializes in cases involving disputes about wills, the administration of estates, guardianships over property, and protection of minors’ assets. The Clerk of the Court keeps records related to marriage, divorce, deeds, land records, and other civil and criminal proceedings. Don’t miss these informative meetings.

November 13th
Captain Lisa Hannon, Parkville Police Precinct. Learn more about the Parkville Police Precinct, types of crimes that occur in our area, how police apprehend criminals, crime prevention, and personally discuss neighborhood crime related concerns with the police commander.

December 11th
Holiday Trivia Contest and Pot Luck Dinner. This informal gathering will be filled with good food, fun activities, and fellowship with friendly neighbors. You’re invited to join us, you may win a prize for answering a holiday trivia question.
