Dogs Rescued From Parkville House Fire: BCFD

One person was injured after a house fire broke out on Evergreen Drive Wednesday afternoon in Parkville, according to authorities.

PARKVILLE, MD — One firefighter was hospitalized battling a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Parkville, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. Two dogs were rescued from the blaze, officials said.

Crews were dispatched to the 8200 block of Evergreen Drive at 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3.

The Providence Volunteer Fire Company, which sent one of its engines to the scene, reported the incident was called in as a house with fire in the attic.

By 3:35 p.m., officials said the fire had been knocked.

A firefighter based out of the Parkville station was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to authorities.

Crews rescued two dogs from the burning home, officials reported, sharing photos of the first responders associated with Medic 116 who helped revive them.

"Pets are part of our families, and we were thrilled to save these," the Baltimore County Fire Department said in a statement.

The house fire broke out during a time when the spread of fire was of particular concern; a red flag warning was in effect from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in Baltimore County. Low humidity and gusty winds combined to increase the potential the spread of wildfires. During the warning period, the National Weather Service advised against burning anything outside.
