Towson Walmart Celebrates Grand Reopening After Remodel

A ceremony at the Towson store highlighted store upgrades, commitment to community and employees.

TOWSON, MD —Local associates provided a special welcome to members of the Towson community as the Walmart Supercenter located at 1238 Putty Hill Avenue hosted a Grand Reopening ceremony to celebrate the remodeling of the store. A brief ribbon-cutting ceremony was held which was followed by fun with mascots and free samples from Walmart vendors in attendance on Friday, Sept. 30.

The Towson remodeling project represents Walmart’s reinvestment in the store, its customers, and the community. The remodel provides a refreshed electronics department along with new paint, flooring and signs. Customers can also expect a new and improved customer service center with Money Services and Walmart Pickup. Shopping is more convenient than ever as Towson residents can shop millions of items on Walmart.com, many of which can be shipped for free to any Walmart store through Walmart Pickup.

The store also includes a refreshed pharmacy with a full range of products, immunizations, and services. Walmart pharmacists are ready to assist customers with product and prescription questions. Towson residents can easily transfer prescriptions and order refills on the go with the Walmart mobile app.

Store Manager Jaquetta Bratley was one of three Walmart representatives who addressed attendees of the ribbon cutting ceremony, remarking, “We are proud to offer our customers greater convenience with a new and improved shopping experience. It is an honor to be able to reintroduce this store, with expanded offerings and a fresh look, to our community today.”

Bratley also recognized six associates who were being promoted within the store; the associates were presented with their new employee badges bearing their new titles.

The program also featured a special appearance from Acting Director of the Morgan Community Mile, Mr. Ellis Brown, who spoke about Walmart’s active engagement at Morgan State University.

One local not-for-profit organization was also honored during Friday morning’s ceremony – Mark of Love Foundation. The organization received a grant in celebration of the Grand Reopening and had representatives at the event to participate in a ceremonial check presentation.

Walmart’s commitment to community goes beyond philanthropy. This investment is a whole company undertaking that is woven into Walmart’s day-to-day business activities, creating value by accelerating job mobility, developing suppliers and small businesses, lowering the environmental footprint of Walmart’s operations and more.
