Overlea-Fullerton Window Decorating Contest Set to Begin

The Overlea-Fullerton Business Professional Association is looking for businesses and civic and school groups to participate.

Not to be outdone by its Harford Road neighbors, the Overlea-Fullerton Business Professional Association announced that it will sponsor a holiday window-decorating contest for the Belair Road corridor.

The group is searching for Overlea-Fullerton businesses with display windows and any schools, rec programs, churches, Boy Scouts or other groups that  have an interest in decorating these windows and possibly winning some money for their program.

Anyone interested should contact Lisa Gaskill  (lisa@escapadeadvertising.com or 410-663-6311) or Donna Bethke (ptavon@comcast.net or 410-665-6551).

The project will be winter themed—no religious symbolism will be allowed—and painted on sheets of paper. Window decorations will have to be completed and submitted by Dec. 16.

"We are challenging the local schools and civic groups to come up with their best holiday window display," Gaskill said in an email to Patch.

The first place winner will receive $250 and prizes will be given in increments of no less than $100 to all who participate.

Artwork will be displayed through January. Online voting will end on Jan. 9 to allow everyone a chance to visit the displays during the holidays. Winners and checks will be presented at the Jan. 18 business association meeting.
