Pick Your Own Strawberries at Weber's
Despite a late opening this year, you can still grab fresh fruit at the farm in Glen Arm.

Just because Weber's Cider Mill Farm isn't opening until late July doesn't mean you can't get some farm-fresh produce in early June.
The farm, located on Proctor Lane in Carney, is offering pick-your-own strawberries this week at a satellite location in Glen Arm.
Berries will be available at Weber's Peachberry Farm, 11409 Harford Road, on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.—or until all the berries have been picked.

Prices for the harvest-yourself strawberries vary, depending how many strawberries you buy by weight. You can score under 5 pounds of strawberries for $2.49 per pound, between 5 and 20 pounds for $2.09 per pound and more than 20 pounds for $1.99 per pound.
If you can't make it out this Friday or Saturday, never fear—you can still get strawberries to your heart's content. Strawberries are available for pick up at Weber's Farm Market on Proctor Lane on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The catch is that you have to call or fax ahead to place an order, and the berries are slightly more expensive at $5 per quart (about 1.5 pounds).

Beginning this year, Weber's delayed opening the market so owners Steve and JoAnn Weber could spend more time with their grandchildren.
The market, a Carney standby, will open on July 21 when the first peaches are harvested and, on that day, we will rejoice, because nothing says summer like Weber's peach cake.
