Ravens' Rice To Visit Immaculate Heart

After doing battle with the Cleveland Browns defensive line Sunday afternoon, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will have to make a quick return trip to be ready for a Tuesday morning workout.

He won't be practicing his ball-carrying technique against the Ravens defense at 1 Winning Drive in Owings Mills. Instead, Rice and other Ravens will train with more than 500 students at in Loch Raven during the NFL Ultimate Physical Education Class.

The visit from Rice is a reward for students who won a contest sponsored by the National Football League's "Play 60" campaign. The school will also receive a $10,000 grant from the NFL to be used on health and wellness programs.

To enter the contest, the NFL asked fans to show off their passion for their favorite NFL team and excitement for the coming season; the kids at Immaculate Heart of Mary were eager to comply.

More than 500 students in kindergarten through eighth grade wearing full Ravens regalia spelled out R-A-V-E-N-S with their bodies in the school parking lot and were photographed from the school's roof. The school also submitted a 100-word essay and students pledged to do a total of 10,000 sit-ups, push-ups, squats, crunches and jumping jacks as well as to get 60 minutes of exercise every day.
