Six Residents of Oak Crest Among Class of 2014 Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame Inductees

Volunteers from across the state were honored by the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame on October 23rd.

PARKVILLE, MD—Winston Churchill said that “we make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

On October 23rd, that spirit of selflessness was on display at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie as forty-five people were inducted into the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame at an awards luncheon.

Six residents of Oak Crest are among the Class of 2014. They are Norman Davis, Gudrun Everett, Harold Forst, Marian Kushubar, Marilyn Osborne and Ronald Stokes.

From helping their fellow residents at Oak Crest to volunteering in the greater community, these six honorees give freely and generously of their time and talents, noted Mr. James Wetzel, a board member for the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame and fellow resident of Oak Crest.

Following lunch, Ms. Janice McGregor of the Maryland Department of Aging provided remarks, and Mr. Wetzel presided over the induction ceremony.

The Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization that seeks to immortalize men and women and to record their names in the Archives of the Hall of Fame because of their caring and volunteer efforts. More information can be found at www.mschf.org.
