Area gas prices have held steady over the last week, according to the latest survey by AAA. 

The area average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.691, compared to $3.688 last week. Prices have climbed significantly since this time last month, however, when a gallon of regular unleaded could be had for $3.56. Six months ago it cost an average of $3.08.

The lowest price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the area is $3.639— about 5 cents cheaper than the area average.
