Area gas prices are falling, down by an average of five cents over the last week, according to the latest survey by AAA. 

The area average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.326, compared to $3.370 one week ago.

The lowest price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the area is $3.299—significantly cheaper than the average.

Six months ago, you would have paid almost four dollars per gallon to fuel up; last year you might have paid just $2.79.
