Area gas prices continued to decline, falling eleven cents per gallon of regular unleaded over the course of the week, according to the latest survey by AAA. 

The area average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.393, compared to $3.504 last week.

The lowest price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the area is $3.359 — four cents below the average.

Six months ago you would have actually paid more to fuel up, at a cost of $3.558 per gallon of regular unleaded; last year you might have paid just $2.621.

Crude oil closed the week at $79.85, down more than 9 percent.
