TranZed Alliance names Shirley Crawford community engagement and special events coordinator

Crawford is a resident of Parkville.

BALTIMORE—The TranZed Alliance, a nonprofit child-serving organization which includes The Children’s Guild, Monarch Academy and The Upside Down Organization, named Shirley Crawford community engagement and special events coordinator for mission advancement.

Crawford joins the TranZed Alliance with more than 15 years of experience in organizational development, outreach and event planning. Prior to joining the TranZed Alliance, she worked as a development relationship manager for the United Way of Central Maryland, where she worked with corporate partners to raise awareness about community issues by organizing employee events and marketing employee giving campaigns. Additionally, she planned special events for fundraising.

Previously, Crawford was a recruitment and outreach coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake, where she developed a local program supporting children with parents who are incarcerated, developed and maintained relationships with community programs, and served as a liaison to volunteers and child referral partners.

Crawford presented at the Ready4Work Conference on mentoring relationships with children of prisoners and was a consultant and trainer for the FBI on diversity and school-based mentoring. She attended the Community College of Baltimore County and lives in Parkville.
