Police said the warrants were being served in connection with a nonfatal shooting in Windsor Mill earlier in the day. A woman called 911 and was taken to an area hospital after 5 a.m. Saturday, July 6, according to officials. Her ex-boyfriend had allegedly forced his way into a townhouse in the 1700 block of Winding Brook Way in Windsor Mill and fought her physically before shooting her in the lower body. Police said the woman called 911, and she was taken to an area hospital, where she is expected to survive.

Throughout Baltimore County, patrol officers were on the lookout for a vehicle linked to the suspect after she was shot. An officer from the White Marsh precinct saw the vehicle parked at the motel, and that led to the warrants and ultimately the officer-involved shooting.

The officer who fired the shot will be placed on routine administrative leave during the investigation.
