2-Alarm Fire At White Marsh Landfill Is Out: Officials

A fire at the White Marsh landfill drew crews Saturday afternoon, the Baltimore County Fire Department said.

WHITE MARSH, MD — Firefighters snuffed out a blaze at the landfill in White Marsh Saturday afternoon, according to officials. There were reports of heavy black smoke coming from the building, the Baltimore County Fire Department said.

Crews were dispatched to the landfill at Days Cove Road and Pulaski Highway just before 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, officials reported.

When they arrived, firefighters immediately upgraded the incident to a second alarm, meaning more personnel were requested.

By 2:40 p.m., officials said the fire was out, and the incident was being downgraded to a non-emergency. There were no injuries reported.
