2 Charged In Perry Hall Bank Robbery

PERRY HALL, MD — Two people have been charged in the bank robbery at SunTrust in Perry Hall on Monday, Oct. 23, police said. They were arrested approximately 11 miles from the scene of the crime.

Matthew Dale Bush, 38, and Crystal Lynn French, 33, are charged with robbery and other offenses after the duo was apprehended in Baltimore City, according to police.

At 11:50 a.m., authorities said they were notified of a robbery at the SunTrust branch in the 8700 block of Belair Road, where a man had given a note to a teller announcing a robbery.

Officers positioned around Belair Road near the White Marsh precinct tried to stop the vehicle, which took off toward Baltimore City and which was seen on surveillance camera, according to authorities.

City police officers were notified and assisted as the suspected getaway vehicle crashed into the vehicle of a civilian at the intersection of Federal Street and North Broadway, authorities said.

The civilian had minor injuries, according to police.

French tried to run and was taken into custody nearby, police said. She was charged with robbery and two counts of theft from $1,500 to $25,000, court records show.

Bush, who ran into an alley and a resident's yard, faces the same charges as French plus additional offenses of failing to follow the orders of law enforcement and resisting arrest after he was in custody, police said.

Both Bush and French were hospitalized briefly with minor injuries, police said.

French, of the 100 block of Rebel Road in Grasonville, was being held on $10,000 bail, according to court records.

Bush, of the 2600 block of Porter Road in Bear, Delaware, was being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
