3 Perry Hall High School Alumni To Be Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

PERRY HALL, MD — Three people will be inducted Thursday into the 2019 Perry Hall High School Hall of Fame. Sponsored by the Perry Hall High School Alumni Association, the ceremony is open to all Perry Hall High School alumni.

The 2019 inductees into the Perry Hall High School Hall of Fame include graduates from the classes of 1968, 1991 and 2004.

Roy Marsh of the class of 1991 will be inducted into the Perry Hall High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The center fielder was drafted by the Kansas City Royals and Houston Astros, spending time in both farm systems, according to PressBox, which reported while a student at Perry Hall, he helped lead the Gators to the class 4A title and an undefeated season in 1990. He also earned all-metro honors in 1991 in football and baseball, the outlet reported.

Kenneth W. DeFontes Jr. of the class of 1968 is the retired president/CEO of BGE. After graduating from Perry Hall, he earned a bachelor of science degree from Swarthmore College and a master's in business administration from Loyola College. He led the utility company for 42 years and saw the energy industry through a transformation before retiring in 2014. He's also a member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra board.

Dr. Alessandra Barreiro of the class of 2004 will be honored posthumously, organizers say. She was a board-certified pediatrician who graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 200 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2012. The 32-year-old was living in Colorado when she died Feb. 27, 2018, according to her obituary.
