4 National Night Out Events Near Perry Hall Planned

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The county executive will be among the attendees at one of the National Night Out events Tuesday near Perry Hall.

Recognized the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a community-building event celebrated in thousands of neighborhoods across the country. Many communities hold street parties with local law enforcement, and residents turn on their front porch lights to help reduce crime.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski is visiting several of the community events, including one in the northeastern part of the county.

"National Night Out is an important opportunity for our residents to come together with each other and public safety officials to build and strengthen relationships while working to safeguard our communities," Olszewski said. "I am very proud of the Baltimore County Police Department and Baltimore County Fire Department and I look forward to seeing everyone out for the events around the county."

Designed to strengthen partnerships that foster public safety, some National Night Out events provide family-friendly activities.

The Linover Improvement Association is hosting a cookout and block party from 6 to 9 p.m. on Terrace Drive and Linover Park at 5187 Terrace Drive, Nottingham, MD 21236.

Olszewski anticipates arriving at 8:15 p.m. to the Linover event.

Here are some of the other National Night Out events in the Perry Hall area on Tuesday, Aug. 6:

Seven Courts Citizens On Patrol will hold a neighborhood party at the Seven Oaks Senior Center, 9210 Seven Courts Drive, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Magnolia Glen Homeowners Association is hosting a neighborhood dessert party at Bender Ridge Court from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Fontana Village invites the community to a faith-based ceremony and music at the leasing office on Fontana Lane from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
