$7M Proposed For Perry Hall School Overcrowding Solutions
A new middle school for Perry Hall may come to fruition within four years.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — After years of asking, the residents of Perry Hall may soon have a new school.
Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will officially deliver his fiscal year 2018 budget proposal on Thursday morning. In advance, he said he plans to include $7 million in planning and design funding for a new 1,500-seat middle school in Perry Hall and a 200 to 300-seat addition at Pine Grove Middle School.
The two would relieve overcrowding in the northeastern part of the county, according to Kamenetz. He said that Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Dallas Dance proposed the solution.

"A new high school is also a priority, but overcrowding is more severe at lower levels," Councilman David Marks said in a statement, adding: "—and a high school would likely cost between $80 and $10 million."
