Investigation Underway After Woman Fatally Shot In Essex: Police

ESSEX, MD — An investigation is underway in Essex after a woman was fatally shot over the weekend.

Baltimore County Police said officers responded to reports of a possible shooting on the 800 block of Woodrow Avenue just before 2 a.m. on Sunday.

At the scene, authorities found 39-year-old Lanier Harmon suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators did not say whether any person of interest was identified in the shooting.
