Nottingham, MD (October 21, 2026) - Cruise lines continue to experience strong demand, with Americans eager to set sail. Demand for cruising is at an all-time high. AAA's 2027 cruise forecast projects 22.4 million U.S. residents will take an ocean cruise in 2027, marking the fifth consecutive record-breaking year and a significant 57% increase over pre-pandemic passenger volumes. Smaller, more intimate vessels, such as river cruises, are also gaining popularity because they offer personalized itineraries and destination-focused experiences.
AAA Club Alliance continues to see strong interest in ocean and river cruises and will host several free informational events in the coming weeks.
"For ocean and river cruises, where itineraries are already available through 2028, we're seeing travelers lock in their plans well in advance to take advantage of the best selection, availability, and value," said Anthony Adubato, Director of Leisure Travel and Group Sales at AAA Club Alliance.
AAA, AmaWaterways and CIE Tours will host an informational event, Explore Europe by Land or River, on November 17, 2026, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the AAA White Marsh Car Care Insurance Travel Center. During the presentation, attendees will learn about AmaWaterways' European river cruise itineraries and destinations, as well as guided travel opportunities in Ireland and Scotland through CIE Tours. The event will provide an overview of travel experiences, key destinations, and planning considerations for those interested in exploring Europe by land or river.
