Amtrak Train Kills Pedestrian In Rosedale: Report

County officials reportedly said a trespasser died, and train traffic was held north of Baltimore.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Amtrak trains were stopped for more than an hour Tuesday morning due to a reported fatality on the tracks in Rosedale.

The crash happened at approximately 9:45 a.m. when the man was trespassing on the tracks, WBAL reported.

Train 183 was set to arrive at Penn Station before 11 a.m., which was more than an hour later than anticipated in its route from New York to Washington, D.C.

Authorities cited police activity as the reason for the delay.

"We apologize we are delayed due to police activity," Amtrak said in a statement.

A man was pronounced deceased at the scene near Patapsco at Philadelphia avenues, according to Fox 45.
