During alert status, school buildings are locked from the inside, according to police. It is not the same as a lockdown, because during an “alert,” indoor school activities proceed as usual, police report.
Once it was determined that the person with the K-9 was a police officer, school dismissed on time, according to Dickerson.
The suspect in the bank robbery was still at large Wednesday afternoon, according to police, who were continuing to search for the individual.
