National Guard Barricade Ends with 1 in Custody: Police

Charges are pending against individual who barricaded himself on National Guard property, Baltimore County police said.

GLEN ARM, MD – The person who barricaded himself on National Guard property has been taken into custody and will undergo an evaluation, Baltimore County police reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

He was unarmed, and nobody was injured in connection with the incident, which unfolded in the 10900 block of Notchcliff Road, according to police.

At approximately 11 a.m. a security alarm went off in the building that houses the armory, and Army personnel called police upon seeing a man. A soldier had barricaded himself near the armory, WJZ reported.

Police said that negotiators and tactical teams were brought in because of the sensitive nature of the property.

After talking to police, the man came out and was immediately brought into custody, officials said.

Charges against the man were pending, police reported Monday afternoon.
