Belmont Community in Disbelief!

MTA bus stops at Kintore and Dunfield in Nottingham were put in place without the community's knowledge.

The Belmont Community has rejected MTA bus stops since the beginning of our community's existence. The community is broken up into different sections with different HOA committees. In these sections, there are rules and regulations that we abide by. Each management company controls monies for insurance, landscaping, and other conveniences that we need in the neighborhood. If there is a special need, as in a plumbing issue or another amenity, we vote on it and then it must be approved by the community and management company.

Around June 13th, a neighbor noticed the MTA sign and phoned me. I live on the opposite side of the street and was unaware of the sign. First I thought I had missed something but after talking with my neighbors, it seemed nobody noticed it. All were just as surprised as I. I then spoke with the other sections of the community and realized nobody knew anything about it. However, all were in agreement that we don't want it. Also, I'm sure nobody has realized the MTA bus stop and the school buses will be right next to each other. The Perry Hall buses for kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school pick up and drop off there.

I reached out to Senator Kathy Klausmiers' office at 410 256-1353 to question how this came to be. I told the office the neighborhood was unaware of this MTA bus stop and we didn't want it. They were going to check into it, but we haven't heard back. The bus is going to start on June 20th so please call your Senator, Councilman, or reach out through social media. Just say NO!
