Burglars Prying Open Garages: Perry Hall Crime

Police said that burglars have been attempting to pry open garages and windows in the past 10 days in and around Perry Hall.

PERRY HALL, MD — Six burglaries were reported in the past two weeks in the communities around Perry Hal. So were an assault and armed robbery, according to police. Residents in the Seven Courts area also experienced a rash of thefts from vehicles.

The following information is from the Baltimore County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Toolboxes were opened but no items reported missing after a burglar pried open a detached garage at 3 a.m. on May 22 in the 9800 block of Whitney Drive.

While officers were canvassing the area after learning of the burglary above, they found another garage had been pried open in the 100 block of Attenborough Drive sometime between 12 and 3:11 a.m. on May 22. Nothing was reported missing.

A burglar tried and failed to pry open the back sliding door at a residence in the unit block of Teakwood Court sometime between 10 p.m. on May 18 and noon on May 19.

Multiple thefts from vehicles were reported in the Seven Courts community on May 19, according to WMAR, which said several were left unlocked while at least one had a window broken. The thefts occurred in the Red Fox Farms area as well as along Perryhurst Place and Hallhurst Road.

A juvenile broke into a residence in the 9000 block of Naygall Road and took electronics, among other miscellaneous items. The burglary happened between 9 a.m. on May 17 and 10:30 p.m. on May 19. The suspect forced a side window to get into the residence.

One person was arrested after an assault in the 9900 block of Marilynn Road at 11:01 p.m. on May 15. The suspect, who was armed, was taken to the precinct.

A man was robbed by an armed suspect while in his vehicle in the unit block of Viewridge Drive at 7 p.m. on May 15. The suspect showed he had a handgun in his waistband, pulled the victim's necklace off his neck and then walked away.

There were multiple attempts to break into a home in the 9100 block of Orbitan Road by prying open the garage door and pushing in a window. They occurred between 2 p.m. on May 14 and 6 a.m. on May 16.

Electrical wires and plumbing supplies were taken from a building in the 8000 block of Sandpiper Circle. The burglary happened between 2:30 p.m. on May 10 and 6 a.m. on May 13. It was unclear how the suspect(s) got inside.

Police said that four bank robberies between March 19 and May 9 appear to have been committed by the same suspect, and one was in the White Marsh precinct. The bank robberies were in the Woodlawn, Pikesville, Towson and White Marsh precincts, and Baltimore City experienced a similar case.

There have been five self-storage burglaries in the White Marsh and Dundalk precincts that appear to be related. The burglaries occurred between April 7 and May 4

There were two burglaries at Pete's Cycle in the past two weeks. The suspects were apprehended in the more recent incident.

Four juveniles and one adult were taken into custody after a break-in at Pete's Cycle in the 7500 block of Belair Road. The burglary occurred at 2:30 a.m. on May 19.
That took place a week after another burglary at the same store.

Four motorbikes were stolen from Pete's Cycle before 5:30 a.m. on May 12. The glass front door and front door gate were broken in the 7500 block of Belair Road so the six burglary suspects could get inside.
