Buy-Back In White Marsh Helps Spread Gratitude

A White Marsh dentist takes up a sweet collection that helps kids and those involved in service.

WHITE MARSH, MD — Some kids might find it frightening to give up their Halloween haul of candy. But one Baltimore County dentist’s office is sweetening the deal by offering a little pay-off to the kids who then help to put a smile on the faces of members of the military and first responders.

Here's how it works: Kids get $1 for every 5 pounds of candy they bring in to Dental Designs of White Marsh up to $5.

Then the goods go to Operation Gratitude, which sends care packages to people who are serving as first responders or military members away from home. Last year, the White Marsh office said it donated more than 400 pounds of candy to the cause.
