Celebrate Spring And Play Outside

Six free outdoor activities for families.

It's official, spring has arrived!

I’ve already put the winter coats away and I'm enjoying the fact that my boys want to be outside every single daylight moment. But there’s only so much fun you can have in your own backyard. Some days, it’s nice to get to a park or playground and enjoy the company of other parents and children.

Fortunately, Perry Hall has many outstanding local playgrounds, bursting with children enjoying the great outdoors. Here are six locations to get you out of the house—and they won’t cost you a dime.

Find out what's happening in Perry Hallfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

  1. , located at 9033 Honeygo Blvd., is one of the most popular parks. It has a large playground, several playing fields, an indoor recreation center, picnic pavilions, a paved trail and several off-road trails as well. It’s certainly a community favorite.
  2. , located at 8914 Cowenton Ave., has a terrific playground for kids, ball fields and a paved nature walk that goes up into the woods. My 4-year-old loves to “hike” here, because it’s not terribly long and he can walk the entire thing.
  3. , located at 9401 Snyder Ln., is a hidden treasure. It’s virtually undiscovered territory. It has a terrific playground, pavilion and playing fields.
  4. , located at 9650 Honeygo Blvd., has a great playground, athletic fields and a tennis court. This park has a lot of the same amenities as Honeygo Run, but it's usually less crowded.
  5. , located at 4350 Chapel Rd., has a great little petting zoo, animals to feed, a play area, picnic pavilion, large fish pond, snowballs and, of course, their nursery.
  6. , has an access point on Belair Road, just north of Perry Hall. This is a fantastic place to spend a shady day exploring and hiking the fabulous trails that surround the Gunpowder Falls. This a great location to enjoy a picnic lunch!

With so many local parks, trails and outdoor gathering spots, Perry Hall sure is booming with outdoor fun. Your kids will love exploring the different parks this spring.
