Cocina Diablos Opens in Perry Hall

Perry Hall has new Tex-Mex restaurant and sports bar on Belair Road.

Perry Hall has a new option for those craving Tex-Mex.

Cocina Diablos is now serving up lunch and dinner seven days a week. From guacamole to margaritas, everything is freshly made, according to co-owner Paul Wisner.

“Cocina Diablos is authentic Tex-Mex from the cuisine to the interior design,” Wisner said of the restaurant, which opened Saturday in the building where Bill Bateman’s used to be.

The menu includes traditional Tex-Mex fare like tacos, fajitas and nachos, plus other signature offerings like the “Diablo Burger,” stuffed with pepper jack and topped with jalapeño bacon, crispy onion strings and habanero aioli, or the “Fiesta Crab Cakes” with roasted corn, peppers, onions, street corn and southwest slaw.

“We chose the Tex Mex concept after talking with the public and really just looking around the area,” Wisner said. “We thought Perry Hall would be perfect and welcome for a Tex Mex sports bar/restaurant.”

In addition to the food, he said the decor makes Cocina Diablos special.

“We love the building, and we have the best parking in Perry Hall,” Wisner said. “We want you to think you are in Santa Fe or Arizona when you walk in the door.”

Inside, the restaurant offers three distinct spaces:

  • Lounge with seats, tables, TVs and fireplace
  • Sports bar with 10 TVs and drinks flowing
  • Dining room with Southwestern decor

In April, Cocina Diablos plans to open an outdoor cantina, according to Wisner.

Three partners are leading the restaurant: Jim Williston, managing partner, who has been running restaurants for over 15 years; Marcus Sciadini, majority partner; and Wisner, who is part owner and head of marketing.
