Councilman Marks: Agreement Reached on Preserving Northwind Road Wooded Area
About ten acres will be rezoned as Neighborhood Commons, preventing any development.

I am pleased to announce today that an agreement has been reached to preserve ten acres of sensitive land along Northwind Road as Neighborhood Commons, or open space zoning.
After discussions with the leadership of the Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association, that association will support placing the most sensitive land into the protective zoning. The ten acres is located west of Jennifer Branch and along Northwind Road. Neighborhood Commons zoning prohibits any development whatsoever on the property.
The Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association was established in 1936 by Baltimore County sportsmen concerned about the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats. Today, the association property includes a trap range and rifle/pistol range, a fishing pond, and pavilions and other areas used by members and local groups such as the Boy Scouts.

I would like to thank the Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association for its support of our rezoning initiative, which will help preserve the character of Northwind Rind. Special thanks to Wayne Jacobs, Association President.
The zoning maps will be voted on by the Baltimore County Council on August 30th.
