Councilman Marks: Traffic Calming Planned on Klausmier Road
Six speed bumps will be installed after receiving support from 75 percent of residents.

Baltimore County will construct six speed bumps along Perry Hall's Klausmier Road this summer.
The traffic calming project will cost about $25,000, and was approved following a neighborhood petition drive in which more than 75 percent of residents supported the project.
The improvements will be completed before classes start at nearby Gunpowder Elementary School.

I would like to thank those residents who were engaged in this process. In Baltimore County, traffic calming measures only advance with the support of a majority of adjacent residents. Homeowners immediately in front of a speed bump must sign off on the change.
In 2018, our office created a task force to recommend improvements along Klausmier Road. Two other improvements are already advancing. The county budget includes funding to enlarge the parking lot at Gunpowder Elementary School, and the state has approved a light at Belair Road to improve mobility and safety at this intersection.
