Crash with Fuel Spill on I-95 Snarls Traffic

There are miles of backups on Interstate 95 between Baltimore, Harford counties, transportation officials advise.

There's a 5-mile backup between Baltimore and Harford counties due to a midday crash Thursday involving a fuel spill, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

Two left lanes were blocked on Interstate 95 south before the exit for White Marsh Boulevard, officials reported after 1 p.m. Crews were at the scene cleaning up the fuel spill.

By 2:30 p.m., the cleanup had been moved to the far left lane, with three lanes getting by, according to authorities.

Transportation officials advised taking US 1 or US 40 as alternate routes.
